How do I know if therapy is actually helping?

You can tell it by shifts in your body, your feelings, thoughts and beliefs. You realize that when you feel something, you name it and validate it, rather than dismissing it or “should’ing” yourself about how you ought to feel. You notice a kinder, gentler thought response to stressful situations, and a more regulated body than before. You slow down when you find your mind racing in reaction to an untoward remark, and remind yourself of the scope of your responsibility.

Make peace with your story & invest in your future.
